Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry of Moldova, Mr. Bumacov reported to journalists on the outcome of the year for agriculture. In general, in 2013 there was a good growth in the agricultural sector of Moldova. For example, the grain harvest amounted to 3,000,000 tons, which exceeds the average for the previous three years at 43.5%.
According to the report, the wheat harvest this year reached nearly 1 million tons. This is more than 50% compared to the average of recent years. Wheat yield per 1 ha averaged 3 tons. Corn crop has grown by more than 50% to 1.7 million tons. Also grew crops of sunflower, sugar beet, fruit and vegetables.
Unfortunately, the producers of agricultural products have been forced to lower their prices. The average price over the same period last year fell by more than 20%. Vegetables, fruits and grains cheaper on average by 25%, milk and meat fell by 10%.
Crop growth is also allowed to send more products for export. From January to August this year, the volume of agricultural exports exceeded $ 1 billion, a 10.9% increase compared to the same period last year.
Good harvests are also a consequence of the quality of agricultural machinery, which is used in the fields. Tractors MTZ are the most popular equipment farm in Moldova. With these tractors farmers can cultivate the land economically and efficiently. Agropiese TGR presented the largest selection of MTZ.
